I’ve been using Dreamhost for the past month, and have enjoyed the services here immensely. I’ve used plenty of webhosting services in the past, from Godaddy to the now defunct Pinchpenny, and have found Dreamhost to be the best so far.
Currently, I’m signed up with the Code Monster plan on a month-to-month payment basis. With my plan, I get:
- 400GB of space (which increases weekly by 2GB)
- 4TB of bandwidth (which increases weekly by 32GB)
- Unlimited MYSQL databases
- 12,000 email accounts
- 375 shell/ftp user accounts
- 1 free 1 year domain registration
I’m never going to use that much space (I don’t think), but for only $19.95 a month, I guess I couldn’t resist.
One of the key features that I found appealing over Godaddy was the ability to add multiple ftp users, thus allowing me to host other people on my webspace, and give them their own FTP login credentials without having to either compromise my own login, or force them to send me the files directly to upload.
Why I would recommend Dreamhost to a friend (or anybody):
- They are Reliable.
- Customer service is amazing, fast, and to the point.
- They offer allot of services at a better value.
- The control panel to manage your account is easy to use, and not confusing at all.
- Built-in Paypal donation support, along with the ability to pay by Paypal. They now even offer the ability to pay via Google Checkout!
- One click installs for easy installation of software, including Wordpress, PhpBB Forum, Gallery Image Gallery, Media Wiki, Advanced Poll, and more!
- Comprehensive web stats to show you where your visitors are coming from, where they are going on your website, what browser and OS they use, peak times of website usage, and more!
There are plenty of reasons why I would suggest to a friend that if they are looking for hosting, they should sign up with Dreamhost. Godaddy offers 200GB of space and 2TB of bandwidth $14.99 a month. I’m getting twice that amount for a mere $5 more!
Now I realize that this is only one comparison, but if I were to compare Dreamhost to every other hosting company out there, eventually I might find one that offers more for less. It’s bound to happen. There is always going to be something better if you look hard enough.
But I don’t have to look. I’ve already found the best for me.
Below is a coupon code that I have set up for you if you do decide to setup a website with Dreamhost. You can also find more reviews of Dreamhost at Dreamhostreviews.com, where they also have coupon codes. I don’t care if you use my coupon code or not (although I do get a maximum of $97 dollars minus the amount of the discount for every signup, feel free to use any other coupon code that saves you more, because that’s the point: Dreamhost saves you money!)
If Dreamhost isn’t the host you’re looking for (I find that hard to believe!) then I wish you look in your search for an ideal web-host. But if they are, and you do signup, then let me be the first to say: Welcome to the best host on Earth!
Here is a promo code that you can use when you sign-up for hosting with Dreamhost. Enter Trevino01 into the promo code box and you will receive your discount.

[...] It is recommended that you get your blog hosted at your own domain, but not imperative. For hosting, I recommend Dreamhost. You can find my review and and a coupon code here. [...]
