Matthew Trevino's Scarform

2010

It’s hard to believe that I have been writing for over a decade, but the proof is upon me. From freehosts in 1998 to Scarform in 2004, I’ve written randomly (and often times unfavorably) on the events that unfold around me. I’ve put it all into words to be strewn across the Interwebs and deciphered by my reader.

I’ve written of good times, and of bad. Of triumphs and of losses. Of love, life, and everything in-between. Of death, destruction, and the re-posting of what I thought to be somewhat entertaining news articles.

I’ve released 8 albums, started and finished random and various projects, and watched what first started out as a simple lesson in basic html in Erin’s computer room turn into a simple hobby which then turned into whatever it has become now.

I’ve seen the coming and going of the first team to work on the website, as well as the downfall of the era that was Boyevul. (But then again, Highschool had to end at some point, right?)

And now, as I sit here, writing into what was originally started in the 7th grade as a way of justifying teenage angst and rage, I am almost humbled by the amount of time that has passed. And the fact that even after all of these years, I can still find it in me to write the occasional sarcastic phrase or two and hit the Publish button.

In all honesty, I didn’t expect to live this long, must less see 2010. So this post is to you – the past decade – and hopefully, to the one that follows. May it be filled with sarcasm and posts that make you feel ashamed for having even read them to begin with.
