My Bloody Valentine

While the gore factor is on par, the interest level in the overall plot-line of this movie was fairly low. They weren’t trying to break any new ground with this one, as it felt like your tired run of the mill horror movie that was made for the sole purpose of riding the latest craze of 3D movies.

A good example of them blatantly rubbing this fact in the viewers face was the killer’s “signature” move before murdering his victims – which was pointing his pick-axe at them (to which the shot went from wide to dead on, which of course acted together with the 3D for that “killer pointing out of the screen at the audience” moment).

And while the pace was fast enough so that you don’t lose interest, and the gore level just enough to keep it in line with its title, the acting was somewhat subpar and the overall writing and direction of the movie itself felt forced and unsatisfying.

Get this one in 3D if you’re building a collection of 3D movies – otherwise, don’t even bother with it.

The events of the movie are told through a journal written by the title character on his exploits through his life as he ages from an old man to a young child.
The characters were superb, the acting was amazing, and even though it was a 2 and [...]
